Use the Database Wizard to Migrate a Database

Use this procedure if you have a new install of NOAH System 3.6.1 and would like to move your NOAH data (from NOAH System 3.5.2 or earlier) to the new PC.

  1. Launch the NOAH System 3.6 Database Wizard located at Start > Programs > NOAH System > NOAH Database Wizard.
  2. sqlnew1.jpg

  3. Click Next.
  4. sqlnew2.jpg

  5. Check the box at Replace the database with a new migration.
  6. If you wish to migrate a database at this time, copy it to the local computer.
  7. At The following NOAH System database will be migrated use the " ... " button to locate the noah.mdb file (old Access database) to be migrated to the new SQL Server database. (NOTE: If you leave this path blank an empty database will be created.)
  8. Click Next.
  9. The SQL Server Instance window displays the database instance HIMSA. Check the box next to Overwrite existing database. This will replace the blank 3.6.1 database with the data in the noah.mdb database file. Click on the Next button.
  10. sqlnew5.jpg

  11. When migration has completed, click Finish.
